History
Kurogō Station is a halt on the Matsuura Railway Nishi-Kyūshū Line, located in the town of Arita, Saga Prefecture. It opened on 22 March 1997, nearly a decade after the third-sector Matsuura Railway took over the former JR Kyushu Matsuura Line in 1988, and it occupies a stretch of track that had previously hosted the temporary "Sekai Honoo-haku" station during the 1996 international ceramics fair held between 1 July and 15 October that year. The unstaffed station consists of one ground-level side platform with a passenger shelter but no station building, sitting 2.8 km from the line's starting point at Arita.
