History
Arioka Station opened on 1 October 1997 as an intermediate stop on the newly built Tosa Kuroshio Railway Sukumo Line between Nakamura and Sukumo. The station is the only intermediate stop on the Sukumo Line equipped with a passing loop; track 1 is a high-speed through line with no speed limit on entry, while stopping trains preferentially use the entry-side track 2. The unstaffed elevated station has two opposed side platforms in Shimanto, Kōchi Prefecture, with separate staircases serving each platform. Only local trains call there, some continuing east of Nakamura onto the Nakamura Line as far as Kubokawa.
