History
Kase Station opened on 1 October 1986 as a stop on the Minamiaso Railway Takamori Line, a third-sector successor to the JNR Takamori Line. The 2016 Kumamoto earthquakes on 14 and 16 April caused damage to bridges and tunnel structures along the line and service was suspended through this section. The Tateno - Nakamatsu section was restored and the entire line resumed operation on 15 July 2023. The station has a single side platform with one track and a small waiting-room building; it is unstaffed.

Notes
There is an audibly identical (but kanji-distinct) station in Aomori — Kase Station (嘉瀬駅) on the Tsugaru Railway's Tsugaru Railway Line — and the two are listed together in the Japanese Wikipedia article as same-pronunciation/different-kanji station pairs.
