Urusan-machi Stop

蔚山町

History

Urusan-machi opened on 20 June 1929 as a Kumamoto City tram stop, was abolished at an unrecorded date, reopened in May 1948 as Urusan-machi Gokoku-jinja-mae Station (蔚山町護国神社前駅), and was renamed Urusan-machi between 1961 and 1962. It is numbered B6 on the Kami-Kumamoto Line.

Notes

The Kumamoto tram's station signage uses two different Korean transliterations for stops named after Korean place-names: the "Urusan-machi" sign reads "울산마치" (Ulsan-machi) — using the Sino-Korean reading of 蔚山 — rather than the strictly phonetic "우루산마치".
