History

Yachiyo-machi opened in 1915 on the Nagasaki Electric Tramway Main Line, on tracks then laid parallel to the JR Nagasaki Main Line; a staff path led from the platform to the JNR Nagasaki Locomotive Depot. The stop was closed in January 1944 when wartime express services began, and was restored in 1947. The platforms were relocated in 1957. It is stop number 26 on the Main Line.
