History
Furujima opened on 10 August 2003 in Furujima, Naha, when the Okinawa Urban Monorail (Yui Rail) opened its Naha-Airport-to-Shuri route; its station number is 12. The structure straddles Route 330 and carries two opposing side platforms. The locally issued OKICA contactless card became usable on 20 October 2014, and from 10 March 2020 Suica and other nationwide IC cards were also accepted. Furujima was the northernmost rail station in Okinawa Prefecture until 30 September 2019; the following day Yui Rail was extended from Shuri to Tedako-Uranishi, and Urasoe-Maeda took over the title.

Notes
An arrangement of the Yaeyama folk song 'Tsuku-nu-Kaisha' (the moon is beautiful) plays as the in-car chime when trains arrive at Furujima.
