History
Nishi-Rubeshibe Station opened on 1 April 2000 on JR Hokkaido's Sekihoku Main Line as a request station, built to serve students attending Hokkaido Rubeshibe High School after its conversion to an integrated-curriculum school the same year. Only local trains have ever stopped here — the Tokkyū Ōhotsuku, Special Rapid Taisetsu and Rapid Kitami all bypass it. After Kinka Station's passenger service ended on 26 March 2016, Kinka-originating trains had their passenger-handling section shortened to terminate here. From the 15 March 2025 timetable revision, even the first up local train of the day passes through.

Notes
Because the single platform has no passing loop or signals, trains terminating here are sent on empty to Kinka signal box and then run back as the next departure.
