History

Kaguraoka Station was one of several stops added to the Furano Line when JNR introduced diesel multiple-unit service in 1957. It first appeared on 1 December 1957 as Kaguraoka temporary halt between Nishi-Kagura and Asahikawa, and was upgraded to a full passenger station on 25 March 1958. JR Hokkaido inherited the station at the 1 April 1987 privatisation. It remains an unstaffed ground-level stop with a single curved platform, hosting only local services on the Furano Line. The name is taken from the former Kagura district of Asahikawa, which preceded an annexation into the city.

Notes

Because the line curves through the station, the platform is built as an arc rather than a straight line.
