History

Inaho Station opened on 1 November 1986 as Inaho Temporary Boarding Point on the Japanese National Railways Hakodate Main Line, an unstaffed halt from the start. At the privatisation of JNR on 1 April 1987 the stop passed to JR Hokkaido and was promoted to a regular passenger station, taking the name Inaho. Automated ticket gates were installed on 10 July 1999, station numbering was assigned on 1 October 2007, and Kitaca contactless smart-card service began on 25 October 2008. From the timetable revision of 16 March 2024, the rapid Niseko Liner and daytime rapid Airport services also stop here.

Notes

The station sits directly across the tracks from JR Hokkaido's Sapporo Operations Office and staff training centre, so railway employees themselves make up a notable share of its daily users.
