History
Taisei Station opened on 1 November 1986 as a stop on the Nemuro Main Line in the Kasai District town of Memuro, 32.3 km from the Shintoku starting point of the line. Built late in the Japanese National Railways era as a low-cost commuter halt, it consists of a single bidirectional track served by one side platform. Less than five months after opening, JNR was privatised on 1 April 1987 and the station passed to JR Hokkaido. The station building is unattended and was assembled from two modified shipping containers; in fiscal 2014 it averaged 444 passengers a day.

Notes
The station building is constructed from two modified shipping containers, a low-cost approach JR Hokkaido has used at several lightly used Nemuro Main Line halts.
