History
Chūō-byōin-mae Stop (DY10) is on the Hakodate City Tram Yunokawa Line in Hommachi, Hakodate, Hokkaidō. The platform was completely rebuilt and put into service on 15 November 2016 with shelters, windscreens, a 1.5 m effective width, handrails, benches, ramps, large signage, LED lighting and road-heating on the ramp portion to comply with current barrier-free standards. Both platforms have crosswalks on the Hakodate-eki-mae side controlled by pedestrian-actuated signals that switch to automatic timing during the day so passengers can press the button and cross safely without waiting.

Notes
The 2016 rebuild made Chūō-byōin-mae and its neighbours Chiyogadai (the next stop) the template for the new style of barrier-free island platforms used throughout the Hakodate tram network — 1.5 m wide, with LED lighting, ramps with road-heating and signal-protected crossings.
