History
Ōmachi tram stop opened on 30 October 1913 as Yayoizaka-shita stop, and was renamed Ōmachi before 1938. The stop is on the Hakodate City Tram Main Line and uses the station number D22. Until October 1985 the station had no safety zone; a vestigial sign reading 'tram stop' remained on a nearby utility pole for some time afterwards but has since been removed. The two platforms are arranged in a staggered pattern across the intersection.
