History

Sakaimatsu Station opened on 1950-07-01 on the Kōnan Railway Kōnan Line in Kuroishi, Aomori Prefecture. From 1950-10-24 it operated as a kan'i itaku station run by the stationmaster's family, but staffing ended on 1954-01-01 when the contract was lifted and the station became unstaffed for the whole day. A new station building was completed on 1997-07-31 to replace the original. From 2021-10-01 the station has been included in the Kōnan Railway 'Tetsu-In' stamp programme; the rubber stamp for Sakaimatsu can be pressed into a stamp book sold at Kuroishi Station. The station number is KK 12.
