History
Naganawashiro Station is an unstaffed JR East Hachinohe Line stop in the city of Hachinohe, Aomori Prefecture, 3.4 kilometres from the line's starting point at Hachinohe Station. It opened on 1 June 1934 as a station of the Japanese Government Railways and passed to JR East at the 1 April 1987 privatisation of JNR. The single ground-level side platform sits below an overpass carrying National Route 104, which was completed in October 1962 as the first road overpass in the city, replacing a level crossing on what was then a major arterial route. The Hachinohe Rinkai Railway freight line runs parallel just behind the platform.

Notes
The platform is reached not from street level but from the middle of the National Route 104 overpass, which when it opened in October 1962 was the first road overpass in Hachinohe.
