History
Hashikami Station opened on November 10, 1924 as a stop on the Japanese Government Railways in the town of Hashikami, Sannohe District, Aomori Prefecture. Freight handling ended on October 1, 1962, and baggage service on February 1, 1984. With the April 1, 1987 privatisation of Japan National Railways the station passed to East Japan Railway Company (JR East). On December 10, 2005, the introduction of centralised traffic control on the Hachinohe Line led to the removal of station-level dispatch duties and the station was unstaffed. Today it is the central station for Hashikami town and the easternmost station in Aomori Prefecture.

Notes
Hashikami retained the second-latest semaphore signal on the JR East network until June 2005; the dismounted equipment now stands preserved in a corner of the station car park.
