History
Ugo-Nakazato Station opened on April 1, 1989, serving what was then the village of Nishiki in Akita Prefecture, on the Akita Nairiku Jūkan Railway. Its inauguration coincided with the start of services on the central section of the Nairiku Line between Matsuba and Hitachinai, which completed the through route between Takanosu and Kakunodate. The station consists of a single side platform serving one bi-directional track; there is no station building, only a small shelter on the platform, and it is unstaffed. It sits 71.7 kilometres from the line's terminus at Takanosu Station, in the city of Semboku.
