History
Kurosawa Station opened on 1 August 1922 as Kurosawa Signal Stop on the Yokojō Railway. When the Yokojō Railway became the Japanese Government Railways' Yashima Line on 1 September 1937, the halt was elevated to a full station and renamed Ugo-Kurosawa. The Japanese Government Railways became the Japanese National Railways after the Second World War, and the station has been unattended since October 1971. On 1 October 1985 the Yashima Line was transferred to the third-sector Yuri Kōgen Railway, becoming the Chōkai Sanroku Line, and the station was renamed to its present name. A new station building was completed in December 2003.
