History
Nishitakisawa Station opened on 15 December 1937 as a station on the Japanese Government Railways' Yashima Line, in what is now Yurihonjō, Akita Prefecture. The Japanese Government Railways became the Japanese National Railways after the Second World War, and the station's freight operations were later discontinued. On 1 October 1985 the Yashima Line was privatised and transferred to the third-sector Yuri Kōgen Railway, becoming the Chōkai Sanroku Line. A new station building was completed in December 2003. The station has a single side platform serving a single bi-directional track and is unattended.
