History
Nonodake Station opened on 24 October 1968 as a Japanese National Railways station on the Yanaizu Line. After the line was renamed the Kesennuma Line on 11 December 1977, it became a Kesennuma Line station. With the privatisation of Japanese National Railways on 1 April 1987 it passed to the East Japan Railway Company (JR East). Located in the town of Wakuya, Miyagi Prefecture, the station lies 6.2 rail kilometres from the Kesennuma Line terminus at Maeyachi. It has one ground-level side platform serving a single bi-directional track and is unattended. The Kesennuma Line BRT service that parallels the rail section does not call here.
