History
Satsukino Station opened on 16 March 1991 on the Shin’etsu Main Line in what is now Akiha Ward, Niigata. The station sits 122.6 km from the line’s terminus at Naoetsu and was added to serve newly developed residential areas in the former city of Niitsu. The layout consists of two opposed side platforms at ground level, with the station building positioned above the tracks. In fiscal 2017 it averaged 987 boarding passengers per day, making it one of the busier infill stations on the line. It is staffed.
