History
Tagami Station, on JR East's Shin'etsu Main Line, opened on 28 May 1949 in what is now the town of Tagami, Niigata. It lies 111.1 kilometres from the line's Naoetsu end and has two opposed side platforms connected by a footbridge serving two tracks; the station is unattended. With the 1 April 1987 privatisation of Japanese National Railways it passed to JR East. The vicinity includes Tagami town hall, National Route 403, and the small Yutagami Onsen hot-spring.
