History
Aizu-Takada Station opened on 15 October 1926 as an intermediate stop on the initial eastern section of the Japanese National Railways (JNR) Tadami Line, between Aizu-Wakamatsu and Aizu-Yanaizu, in what is now the town of Aizumisato, Fukushima Prefecture. Freight and parcel handling were ended in 1971 and 1984 respectively. With the privatization of JNR on 1 April 1987 the station joined the East Japan Railway Company (JR East). The passing siding was removed in December 1993 and the station was reduced to a single side platform serving one bi-directional track. A new, simpler waiting-shelter building was completed in January 2000.
