History
Nishi-Nakadōri Station opened on 11 November 1912 on the privately operated Echigo Railway, originally under the name Arahama Station — distinct from the later JNR Arahama Station that is now its eastern neighbour. The name was changed to Nishi-Nakadōri on 1 July 1915. The Echigo Railway was nationalised on 1 October 1927, becoming the JNR Echigo Line. Freight handling ended and staffing was withdrawn on 1 December 1973. Operations passed to JR East on 1 April 1987 with the privatisation of JNR. Located in the Yamamoto district of Kashiwazaki, Niigata Prefecture, the unstaffed stop now consists of a single side platform after its second platform was removed.

Notes
When the station opened in 1912 it was called "Arahama Station" — a name that now belongs to the next station down the line.
