History
Tatsuta Station began operation on 25 March 1909 in the town of Naraha, Fukushima Prefecture, with passenger services following on 25 April 1909 after an initial month of freight-only working. The station is served by the Jōban Line and lies about 241 kilometres from the line's starting point at Nippori. Following the privatisation of the Japanese National Railways on 1 April 1987 the station was absorbed into the East Japan Railway Company. Operations were suspended after the 2011 Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster placed Naraha within the evacuation zone; services south of the station resumed on 1 June 2014, and through services northward to Tomioka resumed on 21 October 2017.
