History
Itsukamachi Station opened on 18 November 1923 on the Jōetsu Line in the city of Minamiuonuma, Niigata, and is located 118.4 kilometers from the line's starting point at Takasaki. Upon the privatization of the Japanese National Railways on 1 April 1987, the station passed to the East Japan Railway Company (JR East), while remaining a freight terminal for the Japan Freight Railway Company. The station today is unattended and consists of one ground-level side platform and one island platform serving three tracks, with passengers reaching the platforms via a footbridge.
