History
Fushiki Station opened on 29 December 1900 with the Chūetsu Railway's line between Takaoka and Fushiki, originally serving as the route's terminus. It became an intermediate station in April 1912 when the line was extended to Shimao. Chūetsu was nationalised in September 1920, and a wartime line-renaming in August 1942 absorbed the Takaoka-Fushiki segment into the Himi Line. The original wooden building was destroyed by fire in November 1928, and the station was relocated to its present site in December 1952. Following the 1987 privatisation of Japanese National Railways, it became a joint passenger station of JR West and freight station of JR Freight. ICOCA acceptance is planned for 14 March 2026.
