History
Unoke Station opened on 1898-04-24 when the Nanao Railway completed its line from the Tsubata provisional station (today's Hon-Tsubata) through Nanao and on to Yatashin. Nationalisation on 1907-07-01 brought it under the Imperial Railway Agency, and the 1909 line-naming reform assigned it to the Nanao Line. Freight handling ended in April 1961, the station building was rebuilt in February 1966, and day-to-day operation was contracted out in March 1972. JR West took over at privatisation on 1987-04-01. A west-side entrance was added on 1996-12-12, and the station became part of the ICOCA fare zone on 2021-03-13.
