History

Fuzokuchūgakumae Station opened on 14 March 1985 on the Nagano Electric Railway Nagano Line, 7.0 kilometres from the line's starting point at Nagano. The stop was added at the request of the Shinshū University-affiliated Nagano Junior High School next door and serves primarily as a school access point. The staffed-hours arrangement was progressively curtailed: from 1 February 2012 staff were on hand only during school days from 07:20 to 16:30, and on 1 October 2019 the station was made fully unstaffed. It has a single ground-level side platform and the line number N9.

Notes

Although only a local-train stop, Fuzokuchūgakumae has higher daily ridership than several express-served stations on the line, thanks to its captive base of schoolchildren.
