History
Shimo-goshiro Station opened on 7 July 1929 as a station on the Tobu Nikko Line in what is now the city of Nikkō, Tochigi Prefecture. It became unstaffed on 1 September 1973, and a new station building was completed in 2007. Station numbering was introduced across all Tobu lines on 17 March 2012, giving the station the code "TN-21". The station has a single island platform connected to its entrance by a footbridge, and in fiscal 2019 served an average of 190 boarding passengers per day.
