History
Kamidaki Station opened on 25 April 1921 as the temporary terminus of the Toyama Prefectural Railway. The line was extended to Iwakuraji on 20 August the same year, making Kamidaki an intermediate station. Through the 1943 wartime consolidation of regional operators it became a stop on the Tateyama Line of Toyama Chihō Railway. The current station building was rebuilt on 21 April 1958, in time for the 13th National Sports Festival. In 1969 the section between Minami-Toyama and Iwakuraji was separated as the Kamidaki Line, and freight handling on this station ended on 1 August the same year. Designated T69, it remains a partly-staffed single-platform stop on the Kamidaki Line.
