History

Tōbu-kanasaki Station opened on 1 April 1929 as a station on the Tobu Nikko Line in what is today Tochigi, Tochigi Prefecture. The station was destaffed on 8 March 1972, and the platform was lengthened in 2006 to accommodate longer formations. On 17 March 2012, station numbering was introduced across the Tobu network and Tōbu-kanasaki was assigned TN-15. The station consists of a single island platform serving two tracks, connected to the station building by a footbridge, and sits 56.6 km from the starting point of the line at Tōbu-Dōbutsu-Kōen. It is operated by the private railway operator Tobu Railway.
