History

The station opened on 20 December 1912 as Terai Station on the government-operated Hokuriku Main Line in what is today Nomi, Ishikawa Prefecture. After the 1987 privatisation it became a JR West station. A bridge-over-track rebuild that began in 2012 was completed on 9 March 2014. On 14 March 2015 the station was renamed Nomi-Neagari Station to strengthen its identity with the city of Nomi, of which it is the sole rail stop. ICOCA support began on 15 April 2017, and the station became fully unstaffed on 1 September 2022. On 16 March 2024 it transferred to IR Ishikawa Railway.

Notes

When Nomi-Neagari was restyled in 2026, a retired Hokuriku Railroad Nomi Line carriage was repositioned at the east exit and converted into an unstaffed convenience store and waiting room.
