History

Fukui Station opened on 27 August 1907 on the Tōbu Isesaki Line, when service was extended from Kawamata to Ashikagamachi. It serves the city of Ashikaga in Tochigi Prefecture and lies 83.9 kilometres from the line's Tokyo terminus at Asakusa. The station has two parallel side platforms connected by a footbridge to the station building. On 17 March 2012 Tōbu introduced line-wide station numbering and Fukui was assigned TI-13. The station building was rebuilt during 2015 and the replacement entered service on 31 March 2016.

Notes

Fukui Station shares its reading with at least two unrelated stations elsewhere in Japan - JR West's Fukui Station in Fukui Prefecture and the Mizushima Rinkai Railway's Fukui Station in Okayama - and the JA Wikipedia article ends with a small disambiguation list.
