History
Hosoya Station opened on 1 October 1927 together with the electrification of the Tōbu Isesaki Line between Tatebayashi and Isesaki. One-man operation began on the Ōta to Isesaki section on 18 March 2006, ending through services from south of Ōta. A 16 March 2013 timetable revision restored through services to as far as Tatebayashi.

Notes
Hosoya retains a wooden station building on the south side of the line, with the platform reached by an underpass. The musician Iyori Shimizu — guitarist and vocalist of the band back number — used Hosoya during his high-school years.
