History
Hida-Furukawa Station (CG28) is a JR Central Takayama Main Line station in Kanamori-machi, Furukawa, Hida City, Gifu Prefecture, and is the representative station of Hida City. It opened on 25 October 1934 when the Railway Ministry's Takayama Main Line was extended from Hida-Osaka to Sakagami, and was transferred to JR Central at the 1987 privatisation. The single 1-platform/1-track on the station-building side, plus a 1-island/2-track, total 2 platforms/3 tracks ground station. ICOCA-area TOICA became usable on the Mino-Ōta direction on 1 October 2025, and a support-equipped reserved-seat ticket machine was installed on 7 February 2026 when the staffed window closed.

Notes
The station and its surrounding town gained worldwide recognition through the 2016 Makoto Shinkai anime film 'Your Name.' (Kimi no Na wa.), in which the town of Itomori is modelled on the Furukawa area. The station appears in the film and has since attracted considerable fan tourism.
