History

Yagyū Station opened on 1 November 1929 as a passenger station on the Tōbu Nikkō Line, in what is now the city of Kazo, Saitama Prefecture. It is operated by the private railway operator Tōbu Railway and sits 23.6 kilometres from the line's starting point at Tōbu-Dōbutsu-Kōen. The layout consists of two opposed side platforms serving two tracks, linked to the station building by a footbridge. On 17 March 2012, station numbering was introduced across all Tōbu lines and Yagyū was assigned the designator TN-06. The station is close to the tripoint of Tochigi, Gunma and Saitama prefectures.
