History

Shingō Station opened on 1 April 1921 as a station of the Hokubu Railway. The associated Shingō Warehouse Company (Chichibu Railway Shingō Station) was established on 22 September 1922. On 12 March 2022 the station began accepting the PASMO IC card and was made unstaffed at the same time. Before becoming unstaffed it had run as a commission station managed from Kumagaya, with the ticket window open Monday, Wednesday and Friday 07:20-14:20, Tuesday and Thursday 11:30-18:30, and weekends and holidays 08:00-16:00.

Notes

In FY2019, before the station was made unstaffed, Shingō ranked 28th in usage out of the Chichibu Line's 37 stations. The station retains its wooden station building, with a simple PASMO gate replacing the staffed ticket counter, and indoor flush toilets inside the ticket gates.
