History
Fukiage Station opened on 1 March 1885 as a Nippon Railway stop in what is now Kōnosu, Saitama. The Oshi horse tramway, forerunner of the Gyōda Horse Tramway, began running into the station forecourt in June 1901, and bowed out around 1922. Freight handling other than dedicated sidings ended in 1980, and the present elevated station building was completed on 20 October 1981. The station passed to JR East and JR Freight at the 1987 JNR breakup, gained automatic ticket gates in February 1995, joined the Suica zone in November 2001, and welcomed Shōnan-Shinjuku Line services the following month. Regularly scheduled freight workings ended in March 2002; "Midori no Madoguchi" closed on 31 October 2023.
