History
Washinomiya Station opened on 6 September 1902 as "Washi-no-miya Station" when Tobu Railway's Isesaki Line extended from Kuki to Kazo, and was renamed in January 1955 in line with municipal mergers. The current elevated station building dates from March 1973. A 2006 timetable revision renamed semi-expresses, scrapped daytime through trains to Asakusa, ended through-passing operations here, and added section semi-express stops. Station numbering TI-03 followed in March 2012, departure melodies in March 2013, and an LED departure indicator in March 2024. The former centre track was retired and remains as a maintenance siding; lifts and a multi-purpose toilet were added in March 2010.

Notes
After Washinomiya featured as a setting in the anime Lucky Star, a "Lucky Star mikoshi" portable shrine was displayed inside the station from 1 April 2009, until high winds toppled and damaged it on 12 July 2013.
