Kagemori is the railway gateway to the still-active Mitsugi-sen lime-cement industrial line: an external siding climbs a 4-percent grade about a kilometre south of the station to the Mitsugi quarry's loading hopper, where a D502 switcher pushes wagons under the hopper for shipment to the Mikajiri cement works.
