History

Urayamaguchi Station opened on 15 March 1930 on the Chichibu Main Line, the private Chichibu Railway line running from Hanyū to Mitsumineguchi. Sited in present-day Chichibu, Saitama, it is 63.8 km from Hanyū and is served by through Seibu-Chichibu Line trains. The station was managed for decades from Chichibu Station as an entrusted halt; PASMO IC compatibility began on 12 March 2022, and on the same day the station became unstaffed. It has a single side platform serving one bi-directional track, fronted by a wooden station building. Because the platform sits on a curve, only two doors near the centre of each car on the railway's commuter rolling stock open here.

Notes

Just past the station on the Bushū-Nakagawa side, the Urayamagawa rail bridge crosses a tributary leading up to Urayama Dam, and the station's woodworked exterior puts it within walking distance of the lime-cave shrines of Hashidate Pilgrimage Stations 28 and 29.
