History

Haraichi Station opened on 1983-12-22 with the start of the Saitama New Urban Transit Ina Line (New Shuttle) and carries station code NS07. It sits in Goban-chō, Ageo City, Saitama, with part of the precinct extending into Ōaza Haraichi. It is an elevated station with two side platforms and two tracks, arranged on either side of the elevated Tōhoku and Jōetsu Shinkansen viaduct, with the ticket gates at the Uchijuku end. The Suica IC card became usable on 2007-03-18, and on 2014-03-28 the city of Ageo installed two lifts. The historic core of the Haraichi locality lies closer to the neighbouring Shōnan Station; this station serves a newer development area along the Route 5 bypass, which opened in 2007.

Notes

The Japanese comedy duo Hareiruya took their name from Haraichi, the neighbourhood around this station, and reportedly rehearsed in the small park directly out front.
