History
Shimizu-kōen Station opened on 1 September 1929 as the temporary terminus of the Hokusō Railway's new Nodamachi (today's Noda-shi) extension of the Noda Line; through running to Kasukabe began on 1 October 1930. The station joined the Tōbu network in March 1944 under the wartime transport-rationalisation merger. An underground concourse with elevators to street level entered service on 12 March 2007. As part of the ongoing Shimizu-kōen–Umesato continuous elevation project, the platforms have been reconfigured repeatedly between 2015 and 2023, with platform 1 finally retired and the layout settled as a single island platform on 29 October 2023.
