History

Yoshinohara Station opened on 1983-12-22 with the start of the Saitama New Urban Transit Ina Line (New Shuttle); the station carries the code NS06. On 2001-05-01, after the merger of Urawa, Ōmiya and Yono, the address was updated to Saitama City, and on 2003-04-01, when Saitama City became a designated city, the address became Saitama City Kita-ku. It is an elevated station with two side platforms and two tracks, set on either side of the Tōhoku and Jōetsu Shinkansen viaduct, with ticket gates at the Uchijuku end and the north side facing National Route 16. The Suica IC card became usable on 2007-03-18, and on 2026-03-20 the sub-name Hitachi Nico Transmission-mae is to be added to station signs and timetables.
