History
Iehisa Station opened on 23 February 1924 on the Fukubu Electric Railway, in the city of Echizen, Fukui Prefecture; some sources alternatively give 1 October 1935 as the opening date. The station passed to the newly formed Fukui Railway on 1 August 1945 with the company's reorganisation, becoming a station on the Fukubu Line. Station operations were discontinued and the station unstaffed from 1 July 1969. A ceremony marking the completion of station-building refurbishment work was held on 19 January 2013. The layout consists of one ground-level island platform serving two tracks, connected to a single-storey wooden station building by a level crossing; it is the only station on Fukui Railway where trains run on the right.

Notes
Iehisa is the only Fukui Railway station where trains run on the right; the supports for the platform canopy are also made from reused old rails.
