History

Shingashi Station opened on 17 June 1914 as Takashina Station (高階駅) and was renamed Shingashi on 27 October 1916. Today it is served by the Tōbu Tōjō Line, sitting 28.3 kilometres from the Ikebukuro terminus between Kami-Fukuoka and Kawagoe. The stop has a single island platform reached by footbridge, with maintenance sidings on either side, and only Semi-Express and Local services call there. Through-running to Shibuya via the Tokyo Metro Fukutoshin Line began on 14 June 2008. Station numbering was introduced on the Tōjō Line on 17 March 2012, designating it TJ-20. Through services were extended to Motomachi-Chukagai over the Tōkyū Tōyoko and Minatomirai lines on 16 March 2013, and to Shōnandai via the Sōtetsu network on 18 March 2023.
