History
Hannō Station opened on 15 April 1915 in the city of Hannō, Saitama, on the Seibu Ikebukuro Line operated by the private Seibu Railway. The station, 43.7 kilometres from the Ikebukuro terminus, functions as a switchback: trains continuing toward Seibu-Chichibu reverse direction here. Seibu Railway introduced systemwide station numbering during fiscal 2012, assigning it SI26. Through-running to Yokohama and Motomachi-Chukagai over the Tōkyū Tōyoko and Minatomirai lines began on 16 March 2013. The station consists of one side platform and two island platforms serving four terminating tracks, with the Seibu Hannō PePe shopping mall above the north concourse.
