History

Kuzumi Station opened on 1 July 1901 (the Japanese-language sources record 1902) as a Narita Railway station handling both passengers and freight, in what is now Narita, Chiba Prefecture. When the Narita Railway was nationalised on 1 September 1920 the station became a Japanese Government Railways stop, later transferring to Japanese National Railways. Freight services ended on 1 October 1962 and parcel handling on 1 July 1970, after which the station became unstaffed and was flooded by a torrential downpour later that November. The present station building was completed in 1980, the line passed to JR East at privatisation on 1 April 1987, and Suica use began on 14 March 2009 when the station was incorporated into the Tokyo suburban area. The station consists of two opposed side platforms connected by a footbridge, with a small single-storey wooden station building.
