History
Misato-chuo Station opened on 24 August 2005 with the inauguration of the Metropolitan Intercity Railway Company’s Tsukuba Express line. Located 19.3 km from the Akihabara terminus, the elevated station has two side platforms designed around a gentle riverside motif, evoking Misato’s waterway character. PASMO support began on 18 March 2007. The station’s registered address was changed from Yanaka to Chuo 1-chome on 31 January 2015 to reflect the surrounding redevelopment. Although Misato City Hall has long been nearby, the area had no real urban core when the station opened; subsequent development has produced large condominiums including The Lions Misato Chuo, the city’s tallest building.

Notes
The platforms sit on a curve with a radius of about 820 m, so the maximum passing speed through the station is capped at 105 km/h.
