History

Minami-Hatogaya Station opened on 28 March 2001 with the inauguration of the Saitama Rapid Railway Line. The underground station sits 4.3 km from the Akabane-Iwabuchi terminus, with an island platform protected by waist-height platform edge doors. PASMO support began on 18 March 2007. With the merger of the former Hatogaya City into Kawaguchi City on 11 October 2011, the station’s address town was renamed from “Minami” to “Minami-Hatogaya.” On 21 May 2016 the operator added a sub-name designating the stop as the nearest station for the Kawaguchi Auto Race Track, the National Route 122-side facility that draws additional crowds on race days.
